Nestled in the heart of the country, Kansas is known for farming, sprawling prairies and grasslands, cattle ranching, wind, gently rolling hills, and great BBQ. It’s also the birthplace of Amelia Earhart and (of course) home to Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. But this design was inspired by one of the most iconic features of Kansas…wheat fields! Just as the right soil and temperature combine to make Kansas one of the top wheat producers in the country, warm colors and a wheat-inspired stitch combine to create a design that captures the essence of wheat farming in Kansas. As John Denver once sang: “Gold is just a windy Kansas wheat field and blue is just a Kansas summer sky”.
