Lake Tahoe is the largest lake in the Sierra Nevada range, most recognizable due to its location – right at the “bend” in the state with the California/Nevada border running nearly down the center. It’s known for amazing summertime activities and incredible skiing, but my favorite part of the lake is picturesque Emerald Bay State Park, a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay with a tiny island in the middle of it.
This beanie was inspired by the view from inside Emerald Bay looking out to the tree-lined shores across the bay and across the lake to the other side with the blue sky of a summer day above. For a wintery look, try adding snow to the ground and the treetops.
