One of the most intriguing aspects of desert landscapes is the secrets they seem to hide, visible only to those who take the time to look, from beautiful sunsets and night skies to various wildlife that stays (mostly) hidden from humans. Some of the most beautiful treasures of all are the various species of cactus, especially lovely when they’re in bloom.
In sun-washed colors of the desert, this design features colorful striped bands with rows of prickly pear and barrel cactus. Leave the finished design as is, or, for additional texture and color, add needles and blooms to the cactus using simple straight stitches and French knots.
